In addition to chartering and vessel operations experience with a shipping owner in Hamburg, Germany, Thomas also held a position with as a Sales and Purchase broker prior to moving to Panama to gain experience with the agency business. Upon his return to Hamburg, he worked in ship finance assisting the needs of a German vessel owner.

Since moving back to Houston, Thomas has continued the family tradition of Biehl by becoming the fourth generation to take control of the company. Moving forward, his knowledge of the shipping industry is informed by a global perspective gained from his previous positions with shipping firms in Germany and Panama.
